Ashabhumi projects

Ashabhumi Nepal has distributed fruits saplings in the community

Ashabhumi Nepal has started distributing different fruit trees and providing support to the community through the established Greenhouse Nursery. With the onset of the monsoon season, we have provided each family in the community with fruit trees to plant on their land.

Currently, we had a limited number of tree saplings, but we are committed to growing more and distributing them for planting on barren land. We are actively gathering resources to increase the number of saplings we can provide, ensuring greater support for our communities soon. We aim to enhance local biodiversity and promote sustainable land use, benefiting both the environment and community livelihoods.

Our organic model farm and learning center in Palpa

Ashabhumi Nepal is excited to announce our ongoing project to create an organic model farm and learning center in the Palpa region of Nepal. This initiative is a collaborative effort with my friend Sunil, who shares a deep passion for permaculture and rural living. Together, we are transforming barren land there into a fruit forest. We are now developing a nursery, cultivating native fruits and vegetables to enrich the region. We will also be conducting organic farming training to empower the commuity

We warmly welcome volunteers to support our initiatives and invite guests to experience farm stays with us. The beauty of nature and the simplicity of rural life offer a refreshing escape from the monotony of everyday life. Join us in daily pastoral activities, from tending to animals to exploring scenic trails, and witness firsthand how rural communities thrive with limited resources, embracing both the beauty and challenges of rural life.

At Ashabhumi, we believe in the power of simple living and the profound impact of community service. By joining us, you will not only contribute to our efforts but also gain a lifelong appreciation for the beauty of simplicity and the resilience of rural life.

One step at a time: From Nursery to Agroforestry

Ashabhumi Nepal has established a Greenhouse Nursery aimed at cultivating various native fruits in the region. After conducting thorough land assessments with agricultural consultants, we have identified suitable species for cultivation in the community area.

 Fruit Tree Cultivation

The Greenhouse Nursery will specialize in producing a variety of fruit trees including lemon, orange, avocado, coffee, ginger, broom grass, Ipil (Leucaena leucocephala), and Bauhinia purpurea. These trees are carefully selected to thrive in the local environment and will be distributed to the community.

Sustainable Distribution Part of our initiative involves distributing these fruit trees to community members, with some provided free of charge and others available at a minimal production cost.

Moving Towards Agroforestry: As we progress, our goal is to transition from nursery cultivation to agroforestry models on barren lands. Our team of experts will provide support and guidance to community members, empowering them to implement sustainable cultivation practices and enhance land productivity.

Community Support and Collaboration: We are excited about the potential of this initiative to not only improve local biodiversity but also to support community livelihoods. By working together and using our collective expertise, we can create positive impacts for both people and the environment.
